Anjana Berde (President of FamilyWorks' Board of Directors)
Anjana brings more than 15 years of experience in employee relations, training development and organizational design to the FamilyWorks board. She is currently First Vice-President and Director of Human Resources at Tamalpais Bank in San Rafael. After earning her BA degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Anjana moved to the Bay Area where she has held a series of increasingly important HR positions with companies, including Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC), Intel and Ryan Associates. She received her Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2006. She enjoys helping businesses achieve their strategic objectives by providing the appropriate human resources consulting.
Paul Ricken (Vice President)
Paul is an Account Manager at Phoenix American Financial Services and a former Executive Director and CFO at The Salvation Army. He brings 20 years of management experience to the Board, 16 in non-profit work. Married with 2 children, his family has resided in Marin County for 10 years. His interest is in working with organizations that provide well-rounded human services accessible to the whole community.
Maria Villani (Board Treasurer)
Maria is a business owner in the commercial office furniture and facilities services area. She serves clients primarily in the Bay Area. Maria brings 25 years of experience in sales in her industry as well as experience in running a small business for the last 15 years. She comes from a large and happy family and believes the family to be the foundation of all communities. She finds FamilyWorks’ focus, services and history to be an ideal platform from which she can contribute to her own community. She has been a member of FamilyWorks Board of Directors for over 10 years.
Mark Clark (Board Secretary)
Mark has been active on the board of FamilyWorks since 2003 and is a past president. He is also pleased to have initiated the Families of the Year celebration and FamilyWorks’ new job-loss counseling program, DownTime. He has worked extensively in marketing, does freelance copy writing, and is currently a loan servicing specialist for Tamalpais Bank. A native of Marin, Mark lives in Novato with his wife, teen-age daughter and assorted pets. He is active in the Novato Theater Company, co-directs the drama ministry at the Presbyterian Church of Novato, and is an avid cyclist and vegetable gardener.
Amy Whitelaw (Past President)
Amy is a Product Manager at BlackRock Global Investors, responsible for the development of retirement solutions for institutional and retail investors. Amy joined the firm in 1998 and has served in a variety of roles including two in the Transition Services Group: transition manager and strategist, as well as an international equity trader on BGI's trading desk. Prior to joining BGI, Amy worked in the Institutional Derivatives Sales Group at Goldman Sachs. Amy completed her undergraduate degree at Dickinson College in International Studies and French. She holds the FINRA's Series 7 and 63 licenses, as well as the NFA's Series 3 license. She is the proud mother of two young girls.
