Anjana Berde (President of APPLE FamilyWorks' Board of Directors) Anjana brings more than 15 years of human resources experience to the APPLE FamilyWorks board. She is currently Vice-President, Human Resources Relationship Manager with Union Bank in San Francisco, CA. After earning her BA degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Anjana moved to the Bay Area where she has held a series of increasingly important HR positions with companies, including Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC), Intel, Ryan Associates and Tamalpais Bank. She received her Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute in 2006. She enjoys helping organizations achieve their strategic objectives by providing the appropriate human resources consulting. |

Maria Villani (Board Treasurer) Maria is a business owner in the commercial office furniture and facilities services area. She serves clients primarily in the Bay Area. Maria brings 25 years of experience in sales in her industry as well as experience in running a small business for the last 15 years. She comes from a large and happy family and believes the family to be the foundation of all communities. She finds APPLE FamilyWorks’ focus, services and history to be an ideal platform from which she can contribute to her own community. She has been a member of APPLE FamilyWorks Board of Directors for over 10 years. |

Mark Clark (Board Secretary) Mark has been active on the board of APPLE FamilyWorks since 2003 and is a past president. He is also pleased to have initiated the Families of the Year celebration and APPLE FamilyWorks’ job-loss counseling program, DownTime. He has worked extensively in marketing and does freelance copywriting. A native of Marin, Mark lives in Novato with his wife, teen-age daughter and assorted pets. He is active in community theatre, co-directs the drama ministry at the Presbyterian Church of Novato, and is an avid cyclist and vegetable gardener. Vicky Smirnoff (Member at large) Vicky is an experienced Fundraising and Development professional who is currently the Development Officer with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Sonoma County. Vicky started her career in the corporate arena then co-founded The Northgate Telecom Group in 1992. In 2006, she moved to the nonprofit sector and served as Director of Development and Communications for Marin Services for Women through 2008, then became a Marketing & Development Strategist to nonprofits, most recently for Legal Aid of Marin. Vicky grew up in Marin and is a member of the North Marin SMART/Sustainable Marin/SRCC AHED Task Force, the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Development Executives Roundtable, the Center for Volunteer and NonProfit Leadership, and a past president of the Rotary Club of Terra Linda. Her commitment to APPLE stems from family experience with mental health issues. Vicky is an avid dog lover, and enjoys an active life with her extensive network of friends and enjoys live music, dancing, hiking, wine tasting, museums, and a host of other activities available in this wonderful place we call home. |

Rita Trumbo (Member at large) Rita offers 30 years of functional expertise in operations management, strategic planning, building collaborative teams and community to deliver results; acquired during her career with Levis delivering branded products/programs and her current role as a nonprofit consultant working with individuals and groups to define goals, and to identify and implement solutions. Rita has worked with schools and nonprofits in the areas of: communication, character education and leadership development, fundraising, business management and building sustainable organizations and programs. Rita, a resident of Orinda, is married with three young adult children. Rita is passionate about working with people and is drawn to APPLE FamilyWorks and its proactive commitment to the wellbeing of the individual, family and community. |
