S.A.V.E. KIDS Supervised Visitation Program
(Safe, Affordable Visitation Experience for Kids)
APPLE FamilyWorks’ S.A.V.E Kids Program provides support to families during the challenging times that occur due to custody disputes, separation, or longer-term parental absences.
When children are separated from their parents they often blame themselves. They are often caught in the middle of the wishes of each parent and they struggle to cope with their own and their parents stress and grief. S.A.V.E. Kids offers a safe and nurturing space within which children can routinely visit with their non-custodial parent.
Our therapists provide support and guidance to the child and non-custodial parent during visits to assure that their time together is positive and reduces stress. The therapeutic supervisor (a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern) models positive parenting skills, actively guides the parent in keeping all dialogue and activities child-centered, and supports the visiting parent and the child through their reunion.
S.A.V.E. Kids provides:
- Separate intake and orientation for each parent
- Sliding scale fees
- Consistent and child-centered parent/child interactions
- Parenting skills guidance
- Private, homelike family rooms
- Quality, age-appropriate toys, crafts, and games
- Safe outdoor play yard for younger and older children
- Weekday and weekend visits
- Safe, secure setting with separate entrances for parents
