    General Summary:

    Family and Disability Support Specialists (FDSS) promote the healthy growth and development of consumer(s) with Developmental Disabilities and their dependents. FDSS’s educate, model, coach and guide consumers(s) to enhance their life skills (e.g., parenting, legal, organizational, mental health, finance), physical skills (e.g. exercise, hygiene, medical/dental) and their social emotional functioning.

    Experience and skills:

    • Six months experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or intellectual disabilities or in human services field preferred

    • Fundamental math and budgetary skills and ability to assist individuals with managing a household budget

    • Effectively interact with people across multiple cultures

    • Comfort working in consumer’s homes

    • Receptive and responsive to coaching and feedback

    • Excellent written and verbal communication

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, Google and basic information technology

    • Fundamental math and budgetary skills and ability to assist individuals with managing a household budget

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Must be age 21 or over

    • Ability to pass a criminal background check/DMV background check/pre-employment physical and TB test

    • Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist individuals with transfers to and from mobility equipment and vehicles

    • Reliable vehicle for transportation of individuals with developmental and/or intellectual

    • disabilities

    • Fluent in English and Spanish

    • Ability to effectively serve in the role of an essential service worker during state/local emergencies and pandemics

    DD Tasks

    • Make effective schedules to serve consumer(s) to fulfill goals and objectives in the Individual Service Plan (ISP).

    • Manage completion of activities in a timely manner to meet short and long term goals of the consumer(s) and their dependents.

    • Attend meetings with consumer(s) and case manager(s).

    • Maintain consumer(s) confidentiality and responsibilities of a Mandated Reporter and The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

    • Keep current and accurate records of service signed by the consumer.

    • Complete timesheets at the end of each service period.

    • Complete mileage reimbursement log at beginning and end of travel for all direct service.

    • Maintain and protect Family Works equipment.

    • Maintain a professional relationship with Regional Center staff regarding consumer(s) matters.

    • Review of consumer(s) and overall case planning, utilizing agency staff and other resources.

    • Encourage and guide consumer(s) in identifying and achieving personal goals, and when applicable, include relevant involved others (children).

    • Develop and maintain consumer(s) notes and progress reports.

    • Engage with consumer(s) according to the case plan using various approaches.

    • Encourage the consumer(s) and family to fully participate in coordinating and utilizing the services/resources available.

    • Transport consumer(s).

    • Perform tasks that relate to administrative responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

    General Summary:

    Performs essential operations duties; sets up and maintains files of information; uses computer skills to enter and maintain data; general bookkeeping; prepares correspondence and develops other routine documents; coordinates activities and relevant department functions.

    Qualifications:

    • Associates Degree in a relevant field or 3 years relevant experience.

    • Works as part of a multidisciplinary team with people from diverse ethnic, cultural, economic, sexual orientation, and gender identification communities.

    • Experience managing and maintaining appropriate records and documentation.

    • Strong attention to details.

    • Excellent communication and writing skills.

    • Proficiency in MAC, Microsoft Office, database and Multiledger.

    • Experience with and knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and requirements.

    Tasks:

    Operations/Human Resources

    • Maintain employment, training, and hiring records

    Programs:

    • Manage Development Disabilities (DD) Program Master Spread Sheet/Data Base.

    • Review, Input and track Regional Center reports and information, Family and Disability Specialists (FADS) assignment terms.

    • File electronic documents in the server (DD Shared Program folder).

    • HE Assignments: Generate, distribute, track receipt and changes, and file.

    • Input timesheet and mileage reimbursement information.

    • Communicate with and distribute DD program information to FADS

    Financial Management

    • Collaborate with Accountant and CPA/auditor on financial reporting

    • Respond to billing and invoice inquiries.

    • Enter income.

    • Reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports, and fulfilling tax related requirements in conjunction with the Bookkeeper.

    • Manage day-to-day processing of accounts receivable and payable using MultiLedger, producing reports as requested.

    • Printing & mailing checks.

    • Maintaining finance department files.

    • Assisting in the preparation of annual audit documents.

    • Ensuring all existing data is complete and accurate.

    • Assisting with other tasks as needed.

    General:

    • Attend weekly DD staff meetings and monthly general staff meetings as needed.

    • Back up clerical assistance in absence of Office Manager
